Emotional Longevity · Dr. Norman B. Anderson with P. Elizabeth Anderson
In Emotional Longevity: What Really Determines How Long You Live, Dr. Anderson — with co-author P. Elizabeth Anderson — draws on decades of research to examine how emotions, thoughts and actions, relationships, faith and meaning, personal achievement, and biology together shape how long, and how well, we live.
Further writings and publications from across his career will be added here over time.
Norman had a rare gift — he could hold the largest questions of a discipline and the smallest concerns of a student in the same breath. Every conversation left you steadier, and clearer about what mattered.
His scholarship shaped a generation of thinking on stress, health and equity. But it was his humility in the work — the way he listened before he led — that colleagues will remember most.
Under Norman's leadership the field grew both in rigor and in humanity. He believed institutions were only as strong as the people they served, and he governed accordingly.
